Google announced launch of Internet services in India’s Malls and Cafes

Google, which is now an unit of Alphabet.Inc has announced that Google has  launched a Google Station in India.  ’’ which is the Indian extension of Google, is already has reserved its 3rd rand among the world’s top websites, but still to deepen its reach across the country ,as the search giant seeks to bring more people on its platform.

Under this service, Google has announced to roll-out the wi-fi hotspot at the places having frequent crowd transmission like Malls, cafes ,transit stations and in social hangout locations such as cafes and universities, the companies.

“The goal is to give people many hot spots within a few minutes walk from their home, university, or workplace, unified by a simple login process that works across all of them,” Caesar Sengupta, Vice-President, Next Billion Users at Google was quoted as saying in the statement.

Google Station is inspired by Google’s free WiFi project at India’s railway stations. Google says that over 53 stations in India now have high-quality WiFi and cater to 3.5 million people each month with over 15,000 new customers coming online via these stations. Google had partnered with RailTel for the WiFi project at these railway stations.

Google plans to scale up the service to 100 by year-end, the company said.Sengupta also said the company is also looking at monetizing the service it offers at railway stations.

Google Station will also be launched in Indonesia and Philippines in future, the company said.
